P1 question
« on: January 16, 2016, 02:14:23 am »

Team,

One question related to P1 backs usage on tech cameras.

Can the legacy Mamiya back mount (for example that of a P45+) and the latest mount of a IQ3 100mp be considered identical from the point of view of an Actus?

In other words would both the P45+ and the IQ3 100mp be compatible with an Actus DB with a single DB interface plate?

It appears that there are 2 different interface plates, one called SLW-83 for IQ3 and another one called SLW-88 for Mamiya AfD. Would a P45+ in P1 mount have to be mounted on a SLW-88 or would it mount on a SLW-83?

Thank you.

Cheers,
Bernard

The one made for the IQ3 will work with all other M mount backs. It has a wider indent allowing room for the extra contact pins on the back.

For Alpa adapter there is a concave slot to make room for the contact pins of the IQ2 digital back. That slot is too short for the IQ3 digital back which comes with 2 extra contact pins on both sides. However the IQ3 digital back still installs fine onto the Alpa adapter as the extra contact pins just spring in.
