Sony RX1R EVF: using the EVF off camera?

I'd like to use the Sony FDA-EV1MK EVF (electronic viewfinder) for the Sony RX1-R (1st version) off camera. Is there any extension cord for the Sony multi-function shoe available anywhere? Or a way to connect this finder to the HDMI port via a lead to that instead?  Thank You.

Don't know if it will work for the EVF but it does have the edge contacts to transfer data, I just looked at mine.
