I'd call your statement bigoted, the very accusations you're making against the GOP.

And Trump is not the least big "racist"? Surely you jest...

About the only race Trump doesn't go after are WASPs...

:~)

So, are you saying Trump speaks for you?
What about a lot of the Tea Party? Not racist? Not bigoted?

You and I are clearly on opposite side of the equation...

racĀ·ism  (rā′sĭz′əm) n.
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

So, all Mexican illegals are NOT criminal, rapists or drug runners? Muslim refugees are not all IS terrorists? Ya might want to clue in the leading GOP candidate. But hey, you say it's not racist? Fine...but I won't be voting GOP.

That's a straw man argument.

Jeff and I don't see eye to eye all the time, but this is one time where he's being conservative. Kinda ironic given the tone of the conversation.  It ain't just Trump who is blatantly and offensively racist, it's pretty much the entire crew running on that side. I mean, not a one of them denounced the anti Muslim tirades from the Donald. While there are assholes on both sides of the isle, to take note that Anthony Weiner resigned while David Vitter is still serving in the Senate even after having his ass handed to him in partial thanks to one of the ballsiest campaign ads in recent memory. And if you think that all this political talk has nothing to do with photography, think again. It's politicians who write laws that affect things like copyright and how you might have access to the internet. One side is going to be more in our (the small guy individual photographer) than the other. You figure out which sides those might be. One side might want to open your favorite pristine wilderness landscape to resource extraction and one side might want to protect that more rigorously for future generations. Again, figure out which side is on your side. I could go on and on, but it's almost midnite and time to walk the dog.

Donald Trump is a Clinton plant (to undermine the respectability of the Republican Party), running to stop Jade Helm and baby parts. :D

And don't let's forget that at least one white supremacist group has endorsed Trump as the one candidate that embodies their beliefs.

I think this article is somewhat pertinent to this topic:

Or maybe a bit of both?

No, it's not a bit of both. As one who has made his living as a commercial producer for several decades now, I can assure you that at the level they are working, with the resources they have at their disposal, everything they do is intentional, and most of it is tested to ensure that it's getting the desired effect.

Interestingly, this skin tone thing can sometimes be adjusted the other way round.

For instance, who can honestly say this guy is not a vampire:
