Four from the beach
« on: December 29, 2015, 03:41:04 pm »

Four from this afternoon at St Audrie's Bay, Somerset. I went primarily with a view to photographing one of the waterfalls that flows over the cliffs. Took my tripod, but forgot the QR plate. Next time. For now, these will have to suffice.

I'd say leave the tripod at home, Bill. You obviously don't need it.

Nice set!

Nice set Bill...I like the last image "Rocks and Sand" very much. Strong graphic image.

Without it you find freedom.

Yeah, but I was lying down, trying desperately to hold the camera steady enough to get a nice blurry waterfall. It worked, but the rocks were a bit blurry too, which rather undermined my artistic intent  :(

So where is that waterfall? I don't see it here.

Maybe blurry rocks is just what it needs.   ;)

OK, here's the waterfall, which makes it five from the beach. So I lied. Sue me.  :)

Yes, I suppose they will. They'll do. Just about  ;)

I love the sky in the second.

Ugh, I hate it when I do that! I try to keep an extra plate in my bag now for these occasions.
Despite your challenges the photos look great. 2 and 3 are my picks for the motion the lines imply. Good compositions!

Thanks all for the positive comments. I'm just waiting for Russ to tell me that the hand (or footprint) of man is what makes them any good.

I like Rocks and Sand a lot too and must say that the one of the waterfall appeals to me a lot, at least in this size. Yes, some blurriness there, but also a great deal of character and and a strange mood, love it, the foreground leading up to the waterfall and the point where it tips over the edge catches my eyes and I couldn't care less about the blurriness I just see an intriguing shot.

And I don't know about you but everytime a revisit some spot and try to recreate a composition shot handheld on an earlier visit I fail miserably, not always but most of the time anyway.... :o

Cheers, Sander

The first one works especially well.

Nicely done and nicely processed.
