Interesting camera--fast f/1.5 lens. I guess this thing has some sort of industrial application. I remember the 16mm cameras that merchants used to take your picture when we cashed checks way back when.

Seawood Photo Late Of San Anselmo..now San Rafael Ca..has quite a collection of olden Camera Gear. I shot this curiosity through the shops window.

The several pinned connection on the hardware below the camera ..likely for remote control[?] leads me to believe that your perception about the check cashing camera" is probably spot on

except that is a military style connector and the camera says "PROPERTY OF US GOV'T." Perhaps a movie camera in an airplane that recorded targets? Is it missing a back?
