The Symmar-S and the Sironar-N should deliver equal quality, you'd be hard pressed to find any difference. The only real difference is the coverage, the Schneider has 294mm vs the 286mm of the Rodenstock.
Yes, the macro should be slightly better for macro photography - but it's quite cumbersome to work with, you have to swap around the elements according to a specific diagram for various ratios and that slows you down a lot.
I'd suggest you make some comparisons yourself, then you can decide for yourself which lens better suits your needs.
