That I would have more control over the naming of various folders.

How does that apply to the import function ?

Well my current LR catalog has various named folders within folders and some just left named by the camera within a folder that I have named (event, date etc). I want them to remain in a similar order (hierarchy) when imported and with the same names. Perhaps I did something wrong when I tried before, but they came out as separate folders in a flattened fashion.

You just need to right click in the folders area and choose 'show hierarchy'

As before, I'm having problems importing a Lr catalog.  Use Mac Pro, files and catalog are on a Lacie HD, and the catalog has 39,000'ish images from 2008-2011.  C1v9 starts importing and around 800 or so images it crashes.  A crash report is generated and sent.  Open C1 again to check which files were imported and find out it is a scattering of images from various folders.  There is one folder that contained 300 images and it was all there.  The San Diego surfing competition folder, containing 900 images, has two images uploaded.  Since some images are imported, I assume my import process is correct.

Any suggestions David?

Ok James - maybe make an export from Lightroom of 2015, or a few months.  At least you can begin a compare to Capture One process then.
