Very cool. Even the central position seems to work in this case.

But it is centrally located on the upper third line ;) Re iPhone6, proves it's not the camera, it's the camera man (person?), nicely done Rajan.
Taking my dad to DV for his 90th birthday next month for a photo tour; can't wait.

I like the background colors, they are very complementary to the almost black foreground. The silhouette of the photographer is well detached. It's a nice shot.

Gosh, Rajan! Maybe I've got to break down and get an iPhone after all, just so I can take pictures as good as yours!   ;D

Eric,

I am surprised by how good the video out of the iPhone 6s is (same with 6 but the 6s has 4K video). It gets even better mounted on a gimbal stick.

Nice!

Btw, waaaaaay back there in the distance, if you haven't been, are some of the least visited dunes in the park.  The Panamint Dunes.

Fine composition, Rajan. Most people wouldn't have thought to include that much blank foreground. I'm surprised nobody's suggested cropping the bottom. The croppers usually strike hard on something like this.

Mjollnir - Yes, I have photographed the Panamint Dunes from this point on a few occasions  with a long lens, and also from the vantage point of Hwy 190 as you descend into Panamint Valley on Towne Pass from the east side. Some day I plan to hike to them.

Russ - Yes, I'm surprised, too :-).

I agree with the positive comments and with Russ's comment on the foreground. My instinctive reaction is usually to crop but in this instance the space provides a nice lead in, almost like being sucked in to the scene.Well done!

OK, let me be the first to suggest a cropping:

1.   Crop the top and bottom to exactly where they are now, and

2.   Then crop the sides to their current positions.

I think that will work nicely.   ;D
