Focus stacking + HDR bracketing
« on: November 30, 2015, 02:19:12 pm »

Helicon Focus recently changed their RAW conversion algorithm, RAW-in-DNG-out (as shown).

For those who combine HDR (viz., HDR Expose 3) with focus stacking (viz., Helicon Focus Pro), has this changed your workflow, and has it improved your results? I never tried combining HDR with FS for fear of pixel butchery, but now with Helicon's new technology, I'm considering it.

Thanks for the tip. However, after reading more it appears Helicon Focus, et al., are overkill for landscapes. I can't find any leading, contemporary landscape photog who uses it, except for macro stuff. Sorry Helicon, almost pulled the trigger today.
