thanks Rob. I appreciate your comment. The piece was fun to put together. And thanks to Glenn Burris of E2HD for putting it together.

Hi Jan,

Rob does not regularly participate here on LuLa as of late, so, at the risk of preempting his response, I'll answer: yes and no, in the sense that he was a commercial photographer, retired now.

Hey Jan,

Now he's back - but the atmosphere can sometimes remind him of Beijing, to where he's never been. He's never been to NY NY either, but feels as if he knows it quite well, instant ammunition to those who may wish to use that abstract notion to undermine anything else that takes their passing fancy!

But that's life in 2016, and at least he and we are still alive!

Yes, Jan, I believe that was the Real Rob C responding, and it was certainly addressed to you.

I expect his use of the third person to refer to himself ("Now he's back...") is because he is too shy to use the "We" of Royalty.   ;)

Ahhhh yes . . . Fats. Here's my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdgzU4frZAo

I think my final Fats favourites to be Blueberry Hill and Red Sails in the Sunset. I don't think either was a Fats original but the recordings remain, for me, definitive!

Love the music of the era. In fact, pretty much everything until punk, which closed my mind to further pop musical culture. The first genre I remember really loving was New Orleans and Chicago jazz. Modern jazz took longer to mean anything to me.
