Introducing LightZone-RT Public Beta
« on: April 14, 2006, 10:51:25 pm »

I'd like to introduce the first public beta release of LightZone-RT.

LightZone RT (for ReTouch) responds to the need for better integration of the LightZone method with the current image editing workflow solutions. Many Photographers want to be able to use their favorite image workflow application, RAW converter, image browser and still be able to edit images using LightZone.

With LightZone RT you can retouch your images using LightZone's unique Zone System method and non destructive-editing paradigm. LightZone RT saves its work as an actual image, either JPEG or TIFF, that can be viewed, printed or further edited in other third party applications. The saved image contains metadata which refers to the original image and remembers all the changes applied to it, allowing LightZone RT to reload the original with the changes when the document is reopened.

Please download the beta release from:

http://www.lightcrafts.com/products/lightzone-rt/download/

The downloaded file contains release notes and how to for the integration with Aperture, Lightroom and Bibble. Expect these notes to be expended in the next few days.

You can get more information about LightZone from our web site:

Regards,

Is this the complete Lightzone program?
If it is, the trial download does not appear to include the browser. Was it intended that Photoshop plugins could be accessed from it?

John, it's not the complete program (although the complete program has dropped in price by $100).
