I have to admit I don't get it, but I'd like to know what made you take the shot.

Perhaps Russ is just making a comment about the quality of photographs posted here? ;)

It's nicely composed.
It's not like anything else Russ has shown.
To me it feels sort of pensive, and invites me to try to explore the mood, or the "inner meaning" of it, if any.

It feels to me as if it is motivated by a search for something that has not been found. I suspect it has to do with Russ wishing he had a good city nearby so he could do some good "street."

But that's just my take. And I hope he does get a chance to do good street again soon.

It is not "street life" but it's still life...

Absolutely. It's pond photography. (Actually it's a river.) But though I posted it partly for the reason Slobodan perceptively pointed out, I do think it's a pretty good still life as river still lifes go. The sun's reflection is almost enough to give you a headache.

Here's another still life from a walk in the local wilderness this morning. This still life obviously has been still for quite a few years, though the saw palmetto around it comes and goes.

It ain't street, but eventually I'll be able to get back to that. In the meantime I have to stick with what I can reach.
