Troubleshooting using Printer Manages vs Applic Manages Color
« on: November 16, 2015, 06:42:16 pm »

Andrew, (and others),
I hazily remember a thread or post 2 or 3 years ago from Andrew?? about how to determine whether a print to monitor matching problem was printer related or monitor calibration or profile related.  It had to do with making a print (Epson) using "Printer Manages Color" and comparing it to monitor and then making a print using "Application Manages Color" and comparing it to the monitor.  And maybe to each other too.   Can someone provide a link back to that discussion or explain what the test was intending to show?  As I remember, it went something along the lines of    ".....if the 2 prints match each other and compared to the monitor then........    But if one or the other differs, then such and such is the problem.

And it isn't the "Why are my prints too dark? thread.

thanks
Brad

Brad,

Was that not in the discussion of Ctein's latest empirical derived advice to go to driver color management and Ctein referring to an article by Joseph Holmes?

Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst

Thanks for the responses
Andrew,
Sorry, but I thought it was from you.  Apparently not.

Ernst,
I've just looked at Holmes' site and found an article he wrote about 5 bugs in CS5 where different results from the two methods was being discussed, but that wasn't it either.

Oh well...........
