Guassian blur overlay and then converted to B&W.

Fairly straightforward.

Very nice... one of the better pictures you've put on the homepage IMO.

Somewhat disappointing it was done with Gaussian blur, I was hoping you were going to say you just caught the right foggy day & light.   No big deal though.

I agree - it is an excellent photograph, including the use of artistic license.

Personally, it's too busy... but I like the "feel" of it. Just my humble opinion.

I think I like that photo more than anything I have seen posted on the front page for quite a while.  It looks a lot like Clyde Butcher's work.
