Does anyone have any information about the date the next Olympus firmware will be released?

I'm hoping it will out before the 15th.

Thanks,

Actually...live View boost 2 came with version 3.1 but I am on 3.0.  I didn't want to redo all my settings unless I needed to.  So that's why I am eagerly waiting for version 4.  Its more "worth" my time to reprogram the entire camera!

It is extremely helpful when shooting night landscapes and astrophotography.

Downloaded fine.  Remember to update your lenses as well.  They need updating to work with the clutch disable feature.  There are a bunch of "quiet" menu updates and refinements that they have done.  Overall some of those were even more welcome additions than the features!

And my hidden favorite (other than the high-viz additions) is that now the menu defaults back to the last menu item you were at. Simple but much appreciated!!

If you have issues connecting to your camera especially if you use the latest OS for Mac, download the latest picture viewer app..  Follow the instruction in that app and it will download a compatible updater.  A screwy way to do things. Once done I updated three OLYs just fine.  Also did every lens.  Simple by just putting the next lens on a body and running updater.

See the attached screen capture from the E-M1 version 4 firmware update, which there will be an update compatible updater for MAC OSX 10.11.1 available on November 30th.

To update to the newest version you need to download and update the Olympus Viewer 3  Once you have that it will handle the update under the new Mac OS.  Follow the instructions to download the latest firmware updater and then follow those directions.  You would think Olympus would put a compatible update online before releasing a new firmware but they didn't.  Once I figured it out the above procedure allowed me to update call my cameras and Pro lenses.

They also updated Olympus capture tethering software.  It is a huge improvement.  The entire camera is controllable.

I just don't understand why we can't save settings yet!  You would think this is the perfect way to adjust everything and save camera setting files.  I don't know when they will get this for such a deeply featured camera.
