Lakeland Dawn
« on: November 04, 2015, 07:50:14 am »

Shot at Dawn on Bassenthwaite in Cumbria. Got up at stupid o'clock to drive down to take dawn shots on Derwentwater. Unfortunately it was cloaked in heavy mist so a few miles further down the valley to here. A few minutes later the heavy mist descended and standing in a lake with the temperature just above freezing lost its charm. The fog/ mist lasted for the rest of the day but the early morning with birdsong was worth the journey. All comments welcome.

Beautiful.

For my taste I would crop the water in the foreground: it gives me a sense of "wet feet" :D

Diego needs to take off his shoes. Don't crop a thing. It's fine just as it is.

You have absolutely captured the essence.
Concept fulfilment at its best.

Beautiful.

Beautiful! Perhaps the extreme left side is not perfectly satisfying, but it depends on what there was beyond the edge.

It seems a little soft on the left hand side. Lack of depth of field? However ..... overall a nice pleasing image that I wouldn't crop.

The softness is movement of the reeds in slightly moving water. Since I was bracketing them I think that I can patch in some non moving parts. It is strange what one can't see until someone points out the obvious.
