Charming. I especially like the bird on the post, who seems to be checking your composition for you.

A mundane scene shot in a pleasing way? Making the ordinary look good is a challenge and you have done it. :)

Thanks gents. Stamper: Down here in the retirement community I'm chairman of the photo club. This season I'm going to use this shot and a few more like it -- of very ordinary scenes -- to make the point that, as HCB says, "Looking is everything."

So where did you finally decide to set your butt down and call home? I'm often about here and there in the motorhome and would love to spend an afternoon shooting with you.

This is pleasant image with a lot of small details but important, like the bird, to discover.
Good job!

Thanks, Francois. I think it's an example of the extraordinary hiding in the ordinary.

Hi Chris, I'd love to buy you lunch and a beer or two, but it's gonna have to wait until we get into our new house and get unpacked. We're still here in the same retirement community in Leesburg, but we have a new house under construction. The house won't be ready for occupancy until the end of November (and at the rate it's going up, I'm not even sure they're going to meet that target). We'll have a ton of stuff coming down from Colorado that has to be unpacked and distributed. My new studio is considerably smaller than the one in Colorado, so I'm going to have some figuring to do to get everything in.

As far as shooting is concerned, no offense but to me writing poetry and shooting photographs are solitary activities. A friend of mine since Korean war days and I went out a couple times to shoot together and it just didn't work.

Looking forward to seeing you next year.
