All the Epsons cut canvas like a hot knife through butter.
Several here have complained about the dust but I never had an issue in 5 years with my 7900 or 9900.

As Dan pointed out all the 7890/7900 and 9890/9900 do great as there was a total redesign of the cutter. The older series will cut it but the blades need to be replaced pretty quickly. I believe the 9900 and brothers have a sharpening setup so the blade will not dull.

The inability to cut canvas is the only thing I don`t like about it? Maybe a new cutter blade will help?

The 7900 does it without problem, at least with BC Lyve. I assume the 4900 and 9900 would be the same. But it has been suggested on LuLa that having the printer cut canvas can lead to lint and other debris that can cause problems, so I do it manually. I went to a fabric store and spent $30 on a high quality pair of 10" fabric shears. They hang on the side of the printer and are never used for anything else. I suppose I "waste" a couple of feet of canvas from each roll, not really a big deal.

get one of these zippy cutters and use an edge of the platen somewhere as a guide to run it across  ... works a charm

I have an IPF 8400 which will easily cut canvas but I have set the printer for manual cutting when printing to canvas.  The problematic dust and eventual knife replacement aren't worth the convenience and the Canon sets down a line for accurate hand cutting.

Cutting the output from my Epson 9800 with an Olfa utility knife is effortless.  Blade changes the same.  Dust?  Zero.

There is a user forum that can usually answer any question you have with Qimage.

I've used the auto cut for canvas for years on my 9800 and 9900 Epson with zero problems. If I want to cut it manually -- when I forget to set the autocut -- I simply use a utility knife, using the bottom edge of the printer for a straightedge. Takes maybe 2 seconds.
