I think there is something wrong, which means "the picture is interesting but... I don't know...".

I could be totally wrong, but IHMO there is a conflict between the "implied structure" of the coloured lamps and the spokes of the wheel that draw the attention to the red writing in the center.

It gives me an unpleasant feeling of not undestanding what I'm supposed to look at.

Thank you for taking the time to write a thought provoking critique. It never occurred to me that the lines from the lights intersecting with the lines from the spokes may be introducing chaos into the image, but I can see it plainly now. Sometimes we all just need a fresh pair of eyes, thanks again.

Quite a good image, IMHO. Although the red is powerful and does draw some attention, it is small enough that it fits in an over all balance of shapes and colours. Resting points. In fact, the eye never wants to leave the image, but wants to travel throughout the image following the lines shapes and colours. A good abstract or non-representational image.

I agree completely with John R's assessment. This a very fine abstract.

As you can see, other thinks that the "chaos" is part of what make your photo a good shot. :D

Really great subject. I think the image is good. You might look at it with the right 2/5ths cropped off as an option...and look at that crop in grayscale. As well the blacks looked crushed somewhat...and I would also explore pulling up some of "the blacks" a bit.  /B
