The Vank Cathedral (also known as the Church of the Saintly Sisters and the Holy Savior Cathedral) is a magnificently beautiful Armenian Apostolic Church in the heart of Isfahan, first constructed at the beginning of the 17th century. The Cathedral's exterior is plain, but the interior is elaborate, containing many beautiful frescoes.
Canon EOS-1D X, EF 11-24mm f/4.0L USM, 10s f/11.0 at 11.0mm iso 100Using my RRS TVC 34L tripod in its lowest position, the camera was just above the floor. It took a long time to (1) set it up so that everything is straight, and (2) get some photos where visitors were not in the shot or knocking the tripod out of position. I used my 10 inch android tablet connected via USB to connect to live view; without it the shot would have been next to impossible.
The lighting conditions were difficult. I was not at all happy with the results from using the color checker passport, so in the end I went to approximating what I saw with my own eyes.
