ilford gold fibre silk "100% Cotton Rag Base Material"?
« on: September 24, 2015, 05:26:27 pm »

I have not purchased IGFS in a LONG time. I believe it was discontinued and re-released? On B&H it says the paper is "100% Cotton Rag Base Material". Is that true or a mistake? The old stock I have, has an alpha-celulose type base, I believe.

I love the hand feel of cotton papers like Museo Silver Rag, but I like to smoother surface of IGFS.

Thanks!

The latest packages of the new stock I bought several months ago are alpha-cellulose - smooth base. Ilford's website only says it is a "fibre base", which doesn't help much. I think the B&H description may be an error.

Definitely an error, the paper base is alphacellulose.
