Some flowers and one grasshopper
« on: September 23, 2015, 04:00:30 am »

As the title says. I was trying out my old Canon 500D close-up filter with the Sony FE 70-200 f4 lens. I used this combination in my Canon days, with very good results. This close-up filter is very high quality, and my copy actually has the same filter thread as the Sony lens (72mm).

These days, I can shoot this stuff without a tripod, thanks to IBIS and excellent higher ISO performance.

Not really true macro, but up to a magnification of ~0.25X is good enough for me. It is also a good alternative for those who already have the lens, want to shoot some of this stuff, but do not want to buy a dedicated macro lens.

Regards

I love the colours in the grasshopper. My only nit is that it would be nice if the pillar were vertical!

The third is fascinating. The purple color is such a welcoming sight.

Thanks everyone.

Jeremy: the pillar is actually a bar in the gate of my house. Which was never vertical anyway:) But I take your point.

Rgds
