Funny, I just spent last week at the Waterfront Marriott in Portland.
I had a similar view that didn't make me think of postcard shots.

For what the shot is of it's not bad, but I'm not sure I'd want this on my wall either.
B&W was probably a good choice for the subject but I'd like to see a little more contrast pop to bring out the graphic lines and shapes.
Also the lower left corner pulls my eye away from the rest, it might work better with that cropped out.

Have you checked out the new bridge? I saw several tripods over there besides my own when I checked it out last week. I didn't realize it had just opened until someone mentioned it. I think it opened the day I arrived. Cool bridge!

Thanks for your comments Matt. I did get down to the bridge but didn't take any photographs. I saw your photo of the sub (very nice).
