I've noted that when I upload JPEGs the ICC profile is now stripped, this did not happen before. In the color management forum I often upload images with ProPhotoRGB profile embedded to show various things around high saturation colors (gamut outside sRGB).

It would be nice if the re-encoding of uploaded images kept the ICC profile.

All of your comments are noted.  We were on really old software.  Now V2 offers a lot of new features by default.  We now have to dumb it down.  Our guys are working on things and hopefully we'll get it to where it was with some new features.  I kind of like Jeff's glowing type.  Just saying.

... We now have to dumb it down...

I can see some early successes.

For instance, there used to be links "Top of Page" and "Bottom of Page" or something like that. Now it says "Go Up" or "Go Down." This makes navigating so much more interesting - it immediately provokes curiosity: how up is "up"? Is it up one post, up one screen or up one page? Can't wait to find out. Love the new game!

P.S. I see we are back to having unnecessarily large space before and after a quote?

P.P.S. I used font one size smaller (nine) and color "navy" to separate the quote. A border around a quote would be nice to have too.

I agree about the new look of quotes, not good!

I'm also seeing something new in terms of notifications of private messages. In the past, I'd get an email notification which I still do, going to the web page would also pop a dialog that there was a new message. Not any longer. By design?

The only thing that caught me by surprise was the "mark as read" button was moved all the way over to the right and "new topic" was on the left in it's place.  I was wondering why I was attempting to start new topics! ;D  I didn't notice any of the other glitches but then I'm running Windows 8.1 (as should all others!).

The alt-s and alt-p shortcuts on the "post" page don't work on a Mac using Safari (and yes, I tried command and control shortcuts and they don't work either). I'm not terribly sure it matters, though.

Is there a way to have the "Attachments and other options" visible by default, as there was before?

Oh, one more thing: I think the little icons underneath the avatar used to be in a horizontal line, rather than above each other. They waste space in this arrangement, at least when next to non-verbose posts.

Particularly for communicative chaps like Slobodan, with his fancy five icons  ;)

Is there some way to avoid all my ¡mages turning soft... very noticeable in the captions.

I'm posting them using the Mona Lisa icon and pasting from my website where, of course, everything looks as it should.

I'm not sure it's to do with the new system: I was in the same boat some years ago, and I think it got resolved, but no idea how.

Rob C

P.S. There's a few in the Prejudice section where it's very obvious.

iirc previously "Insert Hyperlink" prompted for a URI but now it just seems to be a text style option?

In short, just about everything that could have been screwed up, has.

Just switched to Firefox, and the problem's gone!

But, why? It doesn't seem to happen to other pictures that I look at in LuLa on the usual system (Internet Explorer), only to my own uploads. Having said which, as most of others' images don't have captions, I don't really have any way of knowing for sure. It's copy where it can be seen as either crisp or definitely not.

Rob C

Tried Google Chrome, and it's okay there, too. Now, with Chrome, as I write, everything's underlined in red! Oh shit. I need a holiday.

Alterego:

How did you do that?

My last post walked from right to left right across your own post!

As I write, there's a little square above the smilies with an M with arrows moving as did my message...

I certainly didn't click it! I never use those damned emoticon things up there at all!

Rob C

P.S. I see it's still doing it: I'll click on the box and see what happens. Right, what happens is that it doesn't click off.

Yep, really strange.  But I've only seen that with AlterEgo's posts - both of them.
