I recently purchased the A7r II, metabones adapter 4 with firmware 0.41 and Canon 24-70 f4 L IS lens (I have a 5D Mark 2, so lens can be used on both cameras).  My problem:  auto focus is fine from 24-50 mm range, but at 60 mm and especially at 70 mm the lens hunts like crazy and has great difficulty locking focus.  Hopefully firmware 0.42 will come out soon to fix this problem.  Anyone else seeing this?  Solutions?

As an aside, I discovered that there are two modes for the metabones adapter, Green Mode and Advanced Mode.  Green Mode is the default.  Advanced mode is activated by pushing the "Wide" button on the metabones adapter while attaching the adapter to the camera while camera is turned on.  Advanced mode has "Auto magnify manual focus assist", which is useful if you are working primarily with manual focus.  See here for details on the two modes:

No, my 24-70/4 works fine with metabones 4. Thanks for the advice and be carefull to use it: I tried out to switch the mode to advanced mode and this works fine, allthough there is no longer af possible, only manual which is a pity, othwise it would be a usefull mode for me, but the problem started after trying to switch back to green mode. It doesnt switch back, no way to leave advanced mode again. This is bs vpcause i dont want to have from now on a manual only metabones. I will try to play the fw on the adapter again, hoping it will go to default or green mode.

Ok, fw cant be played again to the adapter. But i found out how to switch it back and i think its not described, or did i overread it? :
Switch to advanced mode : Press the stop down button meanwhile mounting a lens to the adapter.
Switch to green mode:        Press the stop down button meanwhile un-mounting the lens from the adapter.

I had no problem switching back to to Green mode.  simply unmount the adapter, then re-attach it.  I think you need to have the camera turned on when mounting the adapter to get the mode to change.

Email received from metabones: a new firmware release is imminent.
