HDR Photo Size in Lightroom
« on: September 09, 2015, 02:13:03 am »

I have 3 raw images 7952 x 5304 (Sony A7RII .ARW) and when I use Lightroom CC 2015 to combine them as HDR, the result looks good, but the photo is only 1280 x 853

Did a google and can't find what I did wrong.

Any idea?

Seems that if I convert to .dng first, then it works (but output doesn't look as good ...)

The HDR conversion to dng will be very flat looking.  But you can easily pull back the look you want with the toolset in LR.  Also check to see what your default camera profile is.  If it's adobe standard, you may want to change to camera standard or camera landscape, the later will boost saturation and contrast.

Unless there is a bug specific to Sony files, that is not supposed to happen. Here is an example with my Canon files - the file size doesn't change, nor it should.

No idea, as my Canon files work just fine.
If you want to post them on something like DropBox, I'll take a look at them with my Win 10 machine.

I was going to ask if you're taking RAW + jpg then choosing the jpg by mistake, but the smallest is 11MP, still way bigger than you're getting.  I suggest putting in a notice on the Adobe blog/community.

If I do 3 raw, I end up with a small hdr output, but if I do 2, then it works ok, but I must say not a lot better than just pulling things out or the main image

From the look at the Adobe forum, this is not an unknown issue, and happens with a number of raw formats, not just Sony.

I am shooting raw only (no jpg)

I would suggest re-installing LR.  I've been using the LR HDR function since it was released on A7r and now A7rii files with none of these issues.
