A page out of Glenn Bartley's book...

...but not quite of his calibre.

Sitting at the cottage, enjoying watching the hummingbirds feed from the feeder on the deck, I figured I can't just sit here and read, I need to try some photographs of these amazing birds. This is but one. YOIu can read more and see more on my blog (no, I'm not trying to drive traffic that way - I just don't want to re-write it here).

Fabulous shot nonetheless!

Just think what a little practice might do!

Nice shot Terry.  Thanks for the link to the blog post as well.  The osprey shot caught some behavior one normally doesn't see.

I enjoyed my trip through your site, and do wonder what happened to the images of 2013 and 2014.

One of the amazing birds on this planet for sure. Good job on first attempt
Terry. But I am seeing posterization (was this a heavy crop) in the background and blown feathers
on the bird ?? Also colors seem a tad faded (red) for this bird, could be just the light.

JPEGs just don't cut it next to the printed image. The ruby throat is the result of the "structural coloration" produced by "schemephores" which need just the right sun angles for its true brilliance.

I figured it must be the light.
