Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 r comparisons
« on: August 24, 2015, 08:36:40 am »

Hi,

The comparisons between the new and old lens are out.
I continue to be interested on it because of the speed o auto focus, but I am disappointed with the initial reports of optical performance.
Taking into account the size of the lens and the front element I can't understand the level of vignetting.

They also found that that resolution is lower up close, but equal of better farther away.
The continue to ignore the Tamron 24-70mm VC for some reason, and frankly that is the most relevant comparison to me:

Some points: The Nikon 24-70mm f2.8G was already better than the Tamron at long distances. The Tamron was competitive or better with the "G" at short distances. Finaly  if it was not for the vignetting I will say that a medium to large distances Nikon price performance improves with his lens.

I hope that the lens will be improved when released.

Best regards,
