Gloss enhancer with MK ink?
« on: August 23, 2015, 02:56:25 pm »

Ernst – is there any way to use gloss enhancer with quad black ink on Z?

I know it is possible to make print, disable paper cutter, rewind the paper back, than change setup in the driver and "print" white paper with gloss enhancer. Is there more simple way?

I am interested in effect that I can get from this combination, not only in look of the picture, but also in scratch resistance.

Regards

Damir,

I do not see a choice of whatever media preset or a hack that would make that possible in one print run.

I have not checked the Wasatch SoftRip possibilities for that method either and I actually do not know whether that RIP still runs on one of my systems. It already had a lousy use of black generation in itself and little control on individual grey inks so I am not optimistic and will not research it. If the printer firmware has no bond between the use of PK + GE and no block for the use of MK + GE  then a flexible RIP could be the only answer.

Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst
