Maybe an oddball, but really a genius! Best of all, he shares his wealth of knowledge and inspiration with the rest of us.

Because of his good profiles, I got my first large-format printer and never looked back. Then he came to a NorCal ASMP meeting and showed his canvas work and talked about the process. That lead to two more larger format printers for me and eventually a commissioned print project of over 600 large finished canvas photos.

He paved the way with his curiosity, inspired me and I ran with it, all without having to start from scratch.

It's great that we have good people like Bill and others who tinker with things and then take great joy in sharing their discoveries!

Such a different path he took from his neurobiology studies and then to Apple with his innovative software (Hypercard) eventually to photography. Following one's nose and not the script.

As Jeff will remember, we all did a workshop together a few years ago in Death Valley and Bill did a presentation on how he mounts his canvas prints and makes his stretcher bars.  Like everything Bill does he takes it over the edge.  He makes all of his inventions with material from the Home Depot and we would joke that when they saw Bill coming they would make an announcement to all the store employees that Bill was in the building.  He is one of a kind.  One of the nicest and most energetic people I know.  His passion for photography and life is quite evident when you spend any sort of time with him.  Caution though, don't ask him to explain how the human mind sees color.  The explanation could cause your mind to explode.  I have been watching Bill's posts as he has fine tuned is spray machine and just kept saying to myself "it is so Bill".

Thanks Bill for all you share and the impact you have had on so many lives.
