Unless it is a deliberate choice, I wouldn't mind seeing slightly brighter highlights. Otherwise, nice atmosphere captured.

Indeed, they seem a bit too dark? In #1, it precludes seeing more detail in the bark.

I like the detail and sharpness. Different from what is normally seen on here and all the better. Well done.

I think they are lovely as is.

I am torn between the current versions and a desire to see them a bit lighter. They convey a very nice mood the way they are now, and too much lightening could very well kill the mood.

Agreed. These are remarkable photographs: perfect compositions and processing. Nicely done!

Personally, I like them as they are also.  #2 appeals to me the most.

I agree with Slobo! Lighter tones would be better in my opinion.
