Aerial River
« on: August 08, 2015, 03:00:58 pm »

While (briefly) in Alaska recently I had the good fortune to be able to visit Brook's Falls to see the brown bears catching salmon.

As a bonus the flight there from Anchorage was absolutely stunning. This is a shot of a river network from the air.

I'll add my admiration for this photo. Great abstraction, who care what the subject is in reality.

If you hadn't said what the scene was I would never have guessed which makes it all the better. Very nice.

Fantastic. Just like arteries in our bodies, or the fractal nature of Nature.

Quite so. I have taken more than a few aerial photos over similar country during fishing trips in Alaska, but can't think of any that came out so well.

Great shot - very attractive.  I love the fact that it is both real and abstract at the same time!

Thanks so much for the kind comments everyone!
I wish I had more of a chance to take aerial shots - you get to see some impressive/unique perspectives

Which, of course, is one way of defining an abstract (as we have discussed before).

Great shot!

Great image.

This reminds me of two things.

Richard Woldendorp's photography.

Google Maps, the Kimberley coastline. If you go to satellite view you can get some stunning images if you zoom in.

Well done.

Cheers,
