Lr4: Possible to use ACR/CC or LrCC as external editors?
« on: August 08, 2015, 11:46:00 am »

For whatever the reasons, I'm finding that Lr4 is more usable (or maybe I'm just more accustomed to how it works...) but there are features in LrCC (namely HDR & Panorama Merge) that are very useful.

"Export to LrCC" or "Export to ACR-CC" via a plugin would be ideal.

Does anyone know if it is at all possible to do this easily?

When you use the Edit In command, you're using the version of ACR in Photoshop to do the rendering. Newer version of Photoshop than LR, not a problem. Export uses the current version of LR to do the rendering so newer features within ACR don't exist.

This is a very weird question. If you have Lightroom CC or ACR CC available why do you need to use LR 4 to edit in either one of those programs.
Just use LR CC or ACR CC to access the file directly, there is no need to use Lightroom 4.

Then again I do not think it is possible to use LR 4 to access either LR CC or ACR CC as an edit in function.

This is very strange. All the features of LR4 are present in LR CC and almost entirely work exactly the same. Where there are new features (Radial Filter, Dehaze) or improved functionality in LR4 features (improved Heal/Clone, brushes in the local filters, etc) those are optional tools. If you don't feel comfortable with them, ignore them. And, aside from those few additions, the UI in Develop is unchanged. Going from LR4 to LR CC is in no way comparable to the revolution which was the transition from LR3 to LR4. (You are using P.V. 2012, aren't you?)

One feature that I use a lot, "C"ompare, works differently enough that it is reason alone for me to not use Lr6 as my "port of first call."
