Caledonia
« on: August 01, 2015, 01:09:40 pm »

The ancient Caledonian forest has been dwindling away for years. The lack of predators meant that Red Deer were ravaging the new saplings, and regeneration was a real problem. Recently, steps have been taken by some shooting estates, to reduce deer numbers, and slowly the forest is coming back.

These Scots Pines were on the approach to Loch Etchachan & Beinn Mac Duibh (Ben Macdui) - a long walk-in from Braemar

A walk that was well worth the effort. This is very nice and once again your processing is spot on. The light area looping into the middle of the image leads you nicely into the image.

+1 - A beautiful photograph of a stark landscape.

Very nice. I really like the little landscape feature between the trees and how my eyes are led there. Good job.

Great photograph--what a fine print this will make. You've got a knack for black and white.
