Dropping down from the highest peak in the Cairngorms, towards the Lairig Ghru, the highest mountain pass here.

I like this. Processing absolutely spot on but why no red jacket?  ;)

Beatiful post-processing.
About the format, may I suggest a 16:9 crop? I think that both the upper and the lower part of the shot somehow steal the attention from the beautiful curves in the middle of the frame.

Not quite sure why there should be a red jacket

And a 16x9 crop, just because

An old joke from my camera club days. Whenever a landscape type image, such as your own was displayed, inevitably there would be someone in it with a red anorak and if there wasn't somebody would  ask....where's the red jacket? :)

Well a little later it started raining, and my mate Mike (who you can see in the photo) did don his red Crux wetproof smock. No photos though, I'm afraid.

BTW, glad you like the processing

Very nice landscape shot with great shapes. It's a great invite to hiking.

Isaac's right. Outside of that, it's a fine shot. The lesson to take away is: In a situation like this, keep shooting. Don't be satisfied with a single frame. You usually can't do that with street photography, but this isn't street photography. Unlike 11 x 14 sheet film, digital files are cheap.

Beautiful scene, well captured. The hiker adds little to the image.

Unfortunate that the crown of the hiker's head is similar in size and tone to the adjacent boulders, and aligns with the edge of the mountain-top. (Gestalt continuation.)

No image is perfect and imo perfection shouldn't be sought. Unfortunate that the positives in the image weren't commented on, only the "imperfection" :(

Next time I'll tell Mike to get a bloody move on & get his head clear of the line of boulders.  :)

But yes, I take the point that compositionally, it would look better to have that clear separation. Thanks for the comments

His head could have been in the clouds and somebody would still have found something "unfortunate" ;) :)
