Z3200 Question
« on: July 28, 2015, 06:42:58 pm »

Today I had to replace the carriage belt which is no small feat.  It went super smooth.  BUT  when I went to reconnect the window position sensor,  I misplace the this tiny little adapter.  My question before moving forward.  Will the printer print without the sensor being connected?  It is a lot of work to put to together to only have to take it back apart.  I really need to print but if it wont work that is a lot of work

Thank you in advance...

If you mean the top lid of the printer and the protection switch there at the right top side of the lid (head carriage stops when the lid is open) you could put a piece of plastic in between the switch. I do that when I want to check the internals in the printer with the lid open. But I guess you can not get to the switch itself now or the switch is not connected at the other end of the cable.

Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst

see if you can fish the cable and switch out, then tape the switch closed.  Should work if you can get to it.

It was easier to order a new switch and 2nd day it.   The printer will not run without the sensor connected.  HP techs even said a 2 cent piece can stop the printer from running....
