How to change the default color profile on import LR CC
« on: July 27, 2015, 01:39:53 pm »

I just noticed that for some reason, LR CC uses the "camera flat" profile as the default for all my Nikon D810 and D800e raw files.  I prefer the camera standard.

Is there a way to change this for future imports so all the raw will be imported with "camera standard" instead?

Thanks
Paul

Select a picture without adjustments and then go into Develop. Change it to Camera Standard. Now hold Alt (Win) or Option (Mac) and the Reset button should change to Set Default.

Thanks John.

I probably changed it with a inadvertent series of key strokes.

Strange, even when I manually change it, back to camera standard, then hit the alt key and reset button (which changes to "set default") it will not work.  I get the drop down box telling me that this I can either change it to adobe defaults or my custom setitngs.  I am selecting my custom setting, but it doesn't change it for all the current D810 image.

Also, there used to be a profile Adobe standard didn't there, I notice that gone now.  I also don't remember "camera flat" being an available profile in previous versions of LR, but I may have just missed it.

Rikk,

Thanks for the link.  That fix gets it back to Adobe Standard.  However shouldn't I be able to follow John's steps and make it "camera standard" instead?

Changing the defaults will not directly affect images that have already been imported with the previous set of defaults. It will however apply to future imports. For those already imported, select all > change one > sync the others to it.

I create Dev Presets for all of the Camera Cal profiles I'm interested in with just that setting in them. Then I can pick the one I want in the Import settings, and save to an Import Preset if I like. I haven't found Import Dev Preset application useful for much else, too many differences in the images to apply something with more settings.
