I've been spending all my time writing memoirs for my kids, grandkids, and great-grands. This morning I went for a walk in Garden of the Gods. Gotta shoot something.

I like the elements and the composition but not the flare.

Jeremy

The flare may not be the best part, but at this point I think it is a necessary for the composition.

The flare fits with the interest in the light on the plants.

I like that it is the casual approach to the monument of a familiar viewer who is more interest in making a good photograph than straining to sum up the three dimensional rocks.

I agree with Bruce. The flare was intentional, though I couldn't actually use it as part of the composition. As it turned out, it goes with the over-bright grass in the foreground.

I'm with you, Russ. Good luck with memoirs: Important. BTW, where is Garden of the Gods?

I like the image and find the flare appealing, an interesting part of that picture.  Makes it unique.

Garden of the Gods, I'd like to revisit some day.  Was there with my parents almost 60 years ago but don't recall a thing (wasn't but a toddler).

David, I sent you a message with more information, but to answer your question, here's Garden of the Gods, or at least part of it.
