Is this HDR if so I don't think it is as good as your recent images? The composition looks fine but the image looks a little lifeless.

It is a single shot with minor adjustment in PS. Haven't used HDR for many years.
I was surprised when I first saw this picture as it looked like Chinese painting which usually inspires me. I've found out, on occasion, I got the pictures similar to this one (dream-like) with long exposure.
To be honest, I really like this picture as it is different from my usual works, as you said it's lifeless and unreal. That maybe the reason why I like it :)

I like the composition a lot actually. Unfortunately the rendering of the background trees is a little weird. It's probably overly corrected in post processing. I can deal with that being a little lighter and not too sharp. But the foreground is very powerful, I really like that.

Great view and surrealistic with the waves rendered transparent with the time exposure (I'm guessing).

There is a light-toned outline of the background trees and palms that appears to be an unintentional processing artifact.
