Mayhem Morris
« on: July 23, 2015, 04:36:58 pm »

Some photos from yesterday evening, with the light failing, so not as good as I might have liked (ISO 3200), but these are of the Mayhem Morris. For the unitiated, Morris dancing is a traditional form of English folk dance. There are two main forms, Cotswold, which unsurprisingly originated in the Cotswolds, and Border Morris, which hails from the English/Welsh border. The latter tends to be wilder, & less genteel than the Cotswold form, with the traditional costumes including a ragged coat & top hat. The Mayhem Morris, a Border side, were dancing outside the pub next door (yes, I live next door to a village pub - lucky me). C&C welcome

The final one, for me.

From the YouTube videos I just went to, the dancers have colourful attire that would make  for very good colour images.
