Website text problem
« on: July 22, 2015, 10:43:49 am »

On the main lu-la website, not the forum, I'm finding the main text font to be too light in tone for easy reading -- on Windows 7 but not OS X. This is using Chrome. Firefox and Internet Explorer are fine.

It's not a one-off thing, it's the same on some other sites, and on both my Windows machines, laptop and desktop. I've done some googling and it seems others are seeing the same thing but I haven't yet found a solution, apart from avoiding Chrome on Windows, which for various reasons I'd rather not do. Anybody here have a clue?

Here's a screenshot showing how https://luminous-landscape.com/focus-stacking-a-basic-guide/ looks on this machine (Win7) in Chrome (Version 44.0.2403.125 m). My setup is perfectly standard as far as I'm aware and it's like this on both my Win7 machines. I'm surely not the only one?

I checked with out web guys and it is OS or Browser issue.  We can't duplicate it on our machines even with the set up you are using.  Wish I could be a bigger help.  Maybe someone with Windows knowledge knows.

Thanks Kevin. I did a bit more digging and it seems this is a problem with the Roboto font and it goes back a long way. As so many people obviously aren't seeing it, there must be a way around it (apart from deleting that font from the system), but I've yet to track it down.
