Possibly a lower position would have meant the branches are separated from the horizon. As it is the black on the horizon is competing with the leaves for attention. Otherwise nicely processed..

I like the way the tree is leaning in the same direction as the clouds, very good.

Thanks very much friends!
I remember exactly why I didn't put the tree above the horizontal line. I'd have missed the clouds! Paulo read my mind, I liked the combination of the tree and clouds. I believe I also have had a picture of the tree above the horizon but I like this one better.

Going lower down would have included more of the sky?

HI STAMPER...
I really appreciate your comment.
I was kind of confused when I first read your comment. What I meant was that if I brought the camera down to the ground, I wouldn't get the horizon ~ 1/3 and get the 2 clods at the same time with the composition in my mind. I probably need to crop the upper cloud to get the composition I wanted.

Best regards,
Pramote

A lovely shot and a great tree! I would have liked to see the tree against the sky more as well but I understand we have to make these choices when composing! I probably would have shot it both ways and decided which was better later. Maybe that is what you did?

I've been to the Big Island a bunch of times (my parents were triathletes) and I just love the diversity of landscapes to be found there. A magical place!

I like this one too. Very nicely done. The temptation could easily be to darken the sky too much. I'm glad you haven't - plenty of detail, and still plenty of drama too.
