Any lens comparison yet between Otus 55mm and Otus 85mm?

Knowing Zeiss I guess they will be very similar.

Make sure you check out the different tabs.  In summary, the 85 has a slight edge but both are the very best lens for their respective focal length on the market and are so close that any difference is splitting photons

We just received the 2 lenses on Friday.  So far I am super impressed with the results.  We have done a comparison with the 90mm Sony and both are good. We will have a review up soon.

Did you mean the Batis or the Otus?

As far as the Otii goes, I used to think the 55mm was unbeatable... but the 85mm is even better.

Kevin, I think you may be referring to the Batis lenses while this thread is about the Otus lenses

Yes of course. But I guess that Michael and Kevin see three lenses competing for space in the camera bag:

Otus 85/1.4
Batis 85/1.8
Sony  90/2.8G macro


Personally, I am very much interested in all three lenses. I have that Batis on order but I may cancel if one of the other lenses is a better match for my needs.

For a 55mm; I can live with a F 2.0 (like a good summicron).

But for a portrait lens, I love a F 1.4 DOF.
