Nice one.  I keep intending to get to the Sand Dunes, but something always gets in the way.  I need to try harder.

To me, you have two nice scenes here that might be better represented separately

First there is the branch (foreground) and dunes (background)
Second there is the sand pattern (foreground) and the branch (background)

Do you think that separating these two scenes into individual photographs may work better than getting all three into one?

Great shot and beautifully processed. However, I can't help but think that you included too much foreground. I tried cropping out about 1/2 of the foreground and the result seemed stronger to my eyes,

David...You've had to go. It's one of the best places in Colorado. Due to the distance, I went there only twice and found out October was nicer than August. It's not hot and there're only few people.

Peter & Otto...Thanks for your comments. I did all kinds of lenses and compositions. Each ones of them were different. I usually try to get interesting rocks or trees as a foreground. As I remember, they were not available.
I like the foreground of this picture because the ripples led my eyes to the mountain and the B&W add the depth into the picture. I am kind of agree that's it's busy. I may try to get rid of the clouds and crop up the top a little.
I really appreciate your interests. That's why photography is so interesting.

Best

I like it as it is. The pattern in the sand is very good, and so is the sky.

Nice photo and a great place to shoot! I love the dunes and live just a couple of hours away. It's also a good place for a summer ski fix if you're into that!

This shot looks a bit dark to me. I like some moody high contrast in monochrome images, but this one leans a little too far to the black for my tastes.
The foreground texture is very nice and leads me into the shot.

The sky is Nice, so I would leave it like this.

After looking at it a while, I've decided I like it as is. Some of the suggested crops have merit, particularly since the foreground, the mountains and the sky are all dramatic and potentially compete for attention. Which brings up the question, what is this picture about? But I think an acceptable answer is that it's about all those things coming together in one place. Given the presence of those strong elements, I might be tempted to clone out the branch, but don't consider it mandatory.

Possibly more critique in this thread than you were looking for, Pramote?  :)

Initially, I found the contrast of the foreground is a bit high but, on the other hand, it shows the harshness of the place.
Well done again!
