Ancient Sage
« on: July 13, 2015, 02:28:56 pm »

I took this Saturday evening just after a rain shower while camping with my family. The sunset turned firey for a few minutes and I scrambled to come up with a reasonable composition that wasn't just a shot of the sky. I realize this is almost just a shot of the sky but it was the best I could find where I was at the moment.

Thanks, not always but if I said never I'd be lying! My wife found it very amusing.  ;D

Beautiful! Must have been a heck of a great camping trip with sights like this.

It was a great trip. This is only about 10 Miles from home but seems much more remote out there, especially at night.
The carnival came to town last week and their spot is in my otherwise quiet neighborhood right next to my house! So we usually go somewhere this week every summer to maintain sanity. Camping there works well because trips to town can be done in 20 Minutes if necessary, or you can just stay out and enjoy the quiet. Lots of biking and hiking to enjoy there too.

Beautiful image. Those reeds to the lower right of the tree distract a little, but this is a quibble.
