Juniper and Milky Way
« on: July 13, 2015, 02:15:58 pm »

Just got back from a few days of camping with my family in the high desert near my home while a carnival was set up a little closer to my house than I would prefer (or can tolerate).
In this shot, the tree is lit by the embers of a dwindling campfire. It was very rainy earlier in the evening so I was happy to see the clouds clear out for these dark skies.

The image needs to be viewed in total darkness to be appreciated. Or you can lighten it up a bit.

+1.
But don't lighten it up too much.

Thanks, it's tough for me to figure out how bright to make it while trying to be somewhat true to what it was really like. I'll try some brightening when I have a chance.

It starts getting pretty noisy if I lighten it much. Here's one lightened about half a stop with a little extra NR on the tree via a gradient.
I'm not convinced it's an improvement. Is anyone else?
