Help!! error 1537 (on a epson 9900)

I come to seek the knowledge of the great luminous-landscapers.


I got an error 1537 (on a epson 9900)


from checking its a pressure thing w. the ink cartridges.



So I inserted 2 new ink cartridges, got that error, put my old ones back in, NO Problem.

Got one working, then found the issue ink was the Vivid Light Magenta.


I did clean the chip with an alcohol q-tip.



From how it was running (longer than normal) and the pressure when I took it out.

It might be not pulling ink out of the cartridge.




Any helpful hints?? Before I go messing it up

Did you call Epson ProGraphics Tech Support for telephone assistance with this error? It's possible they could help solve your problem.

No. I understand the error. Just looking for some DIY tips in case its something easy.

Im no longer under warranty, and I dont want the Epson call turn into a $1000 service meeting.

Once you own an Epson professional printer those calls to ProGraphics are free regardless of your warranty status. It's only when you need professional machine servicing that it can get costly.
