Do you think the composition could have been improved if you had zoomed in a bit?  Perhaps capture two groups of the birds?

Possibly but I liked the wider view. The rock formations are important imo.

I think it will look good printed large as there is so much going on in the image.

It reminds me a bit of a Paul Caponigro photo of a Rock Wall. Nice, semi-abstract.

Very nice!

One of those cases where print size would matter. I can see it printed really big, in a modern loft. Could be confused for a cubist painting even. The type of photography I especially appreciate: totally realistic, yet easily perceived as abstract.

Imo the image isn't really about the birds, it is more about the overall scene and the textures and I agree about the semi abstract.

That's a great description

Intriguing - the longer you look at it, the better it gets. Great stuff.

As a thumbnail, it caught my eye. Then, when I clicked on it, I was wowed by the surfaces. Finally, I noticed the birds. That caused me to chuckle out loud. My only nit is that you may want to crop a tad off of the right side.

That's what I found, too. I really like the patterns and color palette.

That was my attraction. The birds are really only spectators in the scene. Thanks to all for their feedback.

I really like the shot and would agree that it would be suited to a large print.

IMO, it's the light and the distribution of the red-brown that makes the image. When I first looked at it, I was struck first by the quality of light and second by the red-brown pattern strewn and winding. I didn't even notice the birds at first. Nice work.

Once again thanks for the feedback. This image has been dormant on my hard drive for a few years.
