Lower Falls Rainbow
« on: July 06, 2015, 11:37:40 am »

Explorer and first superintendent of Yellowstone National Park, N. P. Langford once said, "A grander scene than the lower cataract of the Yellowstone was never witnessed by mortal eyes."

For a few short weeks a year, at the right time of day, a rainbow appears in the mist of the Lower Falls in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park.

Enjoy.

Glorious. What's the cause of the green streaks at the top of the falls?

Fantastic… The rainbow adds another "layer" of magic in this already spectacular place.

Just the color of the water. I guess it's not interrupted as it goes over the falls in that location. I don't really know. Funny thing is, we met a nice couple from Texas while I was photographing this. I let them look through my lens and she asked me the same thing. :)

I forgot to add in my original post, that I also used a CPL on this shot.
