While I haven't used the particular Fotodiox adapter you linked to, I did spend some time using a Kiron T/S adapter (the rip-off of the Mirex design) on a Sony NEX-7. I was primarily adapting a 55mm Micro-Nikkor to the camera for macro work.
I found the shift generally useful. The tilt worked easily at landscape distances, however at macro distances applying tilt also indirectly caused significant fall which I found incredibly frustrating. (I ended up ditching the adapter for a Kenlock bellows for macro work. And now that I'm no longer doing this kind of work, I'm getting rid of the bellows, too.)
